Small community living at it's best this area is excellent for wintertime and nature lovers. Quaint, quiet, isolated and relaxed, lots of small town charm with folks who overall take pride in their micro place. People are generally "Minnesota Nice" which is very refreshing especially if you live in the eastern part of the country like I do. The sub-arctic winter climate can be brutal even for cold weather fans! Even so, Hoyt Lakes gets my vote.
